Did Pixar play a huge role in your childhood like it did in mine? If you said yes then be prepared because this will change a lot of what you remember from their movies. For a few years now, since 2013 to be more exact, a certain theory has been gaining momentum and popularity, surprisingly, though it is still just a theory many consider it to be fact.
The person who came up with this theory, John Negroni, theorized in his blog that all of the Pixar movies take place in the same universe but are just out of order. Sounds crazy right but once its explained further in his blog it starts to make sense. The theory says places the movies in the following order: Brave, The Incredibles, Toy Story 1&2, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, Toy Story 3, Up, Cars 1&2, Wall-E, A Bug’s Life, and Monsters University and then Monsters Inc..
It revolves around the rise and fall of three groups: humans, machines, and animals. The movies mentioned can be grouped into each “era” and paint an interesting picture. I’ll try not to give too much away but just keep an eye out for easter eggs that theoretically could have been placed as a result of a beloved character trying to find their friend. If nothing else this is something fun to think about considering it is an evolving theory because new movies are still being released and that adds new aspects to the overall story.
