Sunday, February 19, 2017 was one interesting day. All President’s Day weekend had the NBA All-Star weekend going on. Sunday specifically had the All-Star game, where the top NBA players competed against each other. This was a battle of East vs. West and the stats truly were remarkable. From http://www.cbssports.com, they had highlighted some of the moments from these NBA greats.
Firstly, the game was a very close one at specific times. In the end, though, the West prevailed and won against the East with a score of 192-182. The game had occurred in New Orleans, Louisiana, where all the festivities had happened. All the players contributed in their own way, but there was one that outshone the rest. That player was Anthony Davis himself, who plays for the New Orleans Pelicans! He was one of the leading contributors that led the West to victory. Davis even managed to break the legend Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 42 points in the game, scoring 52 points.
Others included Russell Westbrook, who assisted with 41 points. The East had players who did an excellent job as well. There was Giannis Antetokounmpo who earned 30 points. He made those points in 17 shots and had a memorable dunk as well. Kyrie Irving also had 17 assists as well! Of course, there was Lebron James, who did just as great of a job, earning 23 points for the East.
In the end, both sides played to their full extents and had many great highlights overall. As always, NBA’s All-Star weekend was as exciting as ever.
